In this post is one of the most beautiful stories for any couple that I have ever captured. Noah and Kristy were one of our most recent baby bump session couples and when they asked me to photograph Ajané's birth, I was honored and excited! I've given birth to two of my own children, but I've never experienced being in the same room as another woman delivers life and to know that I was documenting such an amazing moment for people was a true honor. I nearly cried I won't lie. I'm glad I was hiding behind a huge camera because if it wasn't, I think I would've been just lost in the moment. To see the happiness, the joy, and the signs of relief on her parent's faces was priceless. Prior to this day, Noah and Kristy always kept me in the loop of their delivery status. We all knew that there would be the slightest chance I wouldn't be able to make it if Baby Ajane decided to come when I wasn't available. None the less, the weekend before her due date I had my bags packed and ready to go the moment I got that text or phone call saying it was "GO TIME!" Luckily, Ajane decided to stay in the oven a little longer which meant that Kristy would have to be induced on a date that happened to be free of any events on my calendar. YAY! The evening before the scheduled delivery I couldn't sleep and neither could Kristy, we both were up on Facebook chatting about what would happen in the next few hours.
I got a text message at 4AM from Noah about their journey to the hospital. At 7:45 I got another text message that the contractions were happening every 5 minutes. It was time for me to go. I don't remember the last time I ran out of the house that quick, and I'm so glad that I did. Kristy and Noah were amazing enough to allow me to capture such a beautiful moment in their family's life. I couldn't have been more blessed to have been present during this time.
Here are a few photographs from that amazing day. Enjoy!
